Dewey was a phenomenal team member, patriot, and friend. Although our first connection was many years ago, I have some wonderful memories from our time together on an extended project up in Lansing Michigan. Dewey brought a level of maturity and stability that was urgently needed at the time. Dewey led by example, and the example he set had a tremendous impact on all members of our team. I have especially enjoyed talking with and corresponding with Dewey during the past several years as he's battled his way through medical challenges. Always a fighter, Dewey seemed to be relentless in the battle. During this time, I also came to sense Dewey had developed a personal relationship with God. We talked several times about the importance of placing our trust in the Lord, because He wants to become our source of strength as we contend with the struggles we face in this world. During the past few years, Dewey often mentioned that the power of prayer was the only thing keeping him going. I'm thankful that he's out of pain now, and I hope to be able to reconnect with him when it's my time to leave this world...
