Obituary for Janice W. Powell

Janice W.  Powell
Janice W. Powell, 70, of Dawsonville passed away Monday May 7, 2018 at her residence.
Born February 16, 1948 in Pickens County to the late Alvin and Myrtis Ray, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. Janice worked many years as a beautician and was a member of Foothills Community Church. She was an extremely devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Sherry Ray.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Gary Powell, Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Derrick and Nicole Powell, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Megan Powell, Jacob Powell; sisters, Jane Baugh, Dawsonville, Brenda Ray, Dawsonville; brothers, Jerry Ray, Dawsonville, David Ray, Dawsonville, Calvin Ray, Cleveland; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday May 10, 2018 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Bart McMillan will officiate. Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
