Obituary for Johnny Young

Johnny  Young
Johnny Young, 57, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday September 22, 2018 at Emory University Hospital following a short illness.
Born April 11, 1961 in Hall County to the late Larry and Patricia Young, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 34 years. Johnny and his wife owned Production Solutions in Dawsonville. He also had ownership and was an active partner in Victory Processing, Victory Foods, Tojo Properties, PJTT, and Lanier Property Investment Group in Gainesville. He also partnered in Pearl River Foods and Pearl River Properties in Carthage, MS. He was a faithful supporter of local churches, the Mississippi Childrens Hospital and help fund a Truett McConnell Scholarship Fund. He will be missed very much by his partners and employees. Johnny enjoyed deer hunting and was a very devoted husband, father, Pops, and brother. He was also preceded in death by his father in law, Robert Rice.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Pam Young, Dawsonville, daughters and sons in law, Tara and Tim Hamby, Kristen and Ryan Seay, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Karley Hamby, Karson Hamby, Sawyer Seay, Lyla Seay; sisters, Kim Young, Dawsonville, Kellie Young, Kennesaw; mother in law, Betty Rice, Dawsonville; sister in law and brother in law, Kathy and David Gee, Dawsonville; special cousin “brother”, Johnny Appling; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 26, 2018, at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Craig Jones, Todd Robson and Phillip Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 8 and Tuesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Truett McConnell College, 100 Alumni Drive, Cleveland, GA 30528 or to the Childrens of Mississippi Hospital, 2500 N. State Street, Jackson, MS 39216 in memory of Johnny Young.
