Obituary for James T. "Terry" Davis

James T. "Terry"  Davis
James T. “Terry” Davis, 74, of Gainesville, formerly of Big Canoe, passed away Saturday October 6, 2018 at Seasons Hospice following a period of declining health.
Born December 20, 1943 in Caliente, Nevada to the late Leonard and Mary Sue Davis, he had lived in this area for the past ten years having moved from Hilton Head, South Carolina. Mr. Davis retired at age 50 as the Senior Vice President of Time Warner Cable. Terry was a dedicated volunteer to Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed farming, travel, fishing, nature, and horses. He was extremely devoted to his family.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Lana C. “Deenie” Davis, Gainesville; children, Heather and Eric Coryer, Gainesville, James Terrell, II, and Emily Davis, Northville, Michigan; grandchildren, Michael Coryer, Jack Davis, Nathan Coryer, Eleanor Davis, Samuel Davis, Camden Davis, Dylan Davis; brother and sister in law, Charles “Chuck” and Clem Davis, Amarillo, Texas; sister in law and brother in law, Joann and Bud Wydman, Waverly, Virginia; nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 10, 2018 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. R. Len Walker, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in the Big Canoe Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday morning beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Everyone is invited to a reception following the service at Home Restaurant, 3909 Steve Tate Highway, Marble Hill, GA 30148.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter, 922 East Morris Street, Dalton, GA 30721 or to Seasons Hospice, 8013 Majors Road, Cumming, GA 30041.
