Donald Whitmire, 52, of Dawsonville died Thursday August 5, 2010 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness.
A lifelong resident of Dawson County, Donald was a 1976 graduate of Dawson County High School and attended Lanier Technical School. He was a lover of all sports, was a dedicated son, brother and uncle and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Surviving are his parents, J. C. and Emma Dean Whitmire, Dawsonville; brothers, David Whitmire and Jennifer Cash, Dawsonville, Dale Whitmire and Teresa Headrick, Flowery Branch; nieces, Courtney Headrick, Jennifer Satterfield, Taylor Cash, and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday August 7, 2010 at 2 o’clock at Liberty Baptist Church. Rev. Mitchell Rickett and Rev. Bobby Whitmire will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 1 pm Friday at the funeral home.
