Marilyn “Tennessee” Edwards, 76, of Dawsonville, GA passed away Friday October 20, 2017 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a sudden illness.
Born August 26, 1941 in Johnson City, Tennessee to the late Robert and Shirley Ball, she had lived in Dawson County since 2003 having moved from Ashville, NC. Mrs. Edwards retired as a nurse with Memorial Mission Hospital in Ashville after over 30 years of service. She was a devoted wife, mother and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Affectionately known as Tennessee, she was an avid University of Tennessee fan.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Gary Edwards, Dawsonville; sons and daughters in law, Kent Edwards, Ashville, Michael and CaTrinna Edwards, Cumming, Mark and Jennifer Edwards, Dawsonville; grandchildren, McKale Edwards, Malia Edwards, McKenzie Edwards, Joshua Edwards, Olivia Edwards, Meghan Picklesimer, Jacob and Lizzy Picklesimer; great granddaughter, Skylar Picklesimer; sister and brother in law, Carolyn and Alan Bailey, Chuckey, TN.
Memorial services will be held Thursday October 26, 2017 at 5 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Russell Davis will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 until 5 at the funeral home.
