Obituary

Allan Robert Rhamstine, 71, of Dawsonville, Georgia passed away on December 24, 2019.

Allan grew up in Decatur, Georgia and was a graduate of Druid Hills High School, Class of 1966.

Allan was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He fought in the Vietnam War on the front lines as a scout dog handler.

Allan is survived by his wife of 36 years, Melissa McEntire Rhamstine; his two step-daughters, Lisa Richmond and her twin daughters Madeline and Lila Langford; and Ginger Greene (Dan) and their two sons Jack and Walker Greene. The grandchildren lovingly referred to Allan as “Gampy” and they treasured their time with him.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Calvin Rhamstine.

There will be a “Celebration of Life” service for Allan at a later date for family and friends.

So sorry to hear of Alan’s passing. I regret to say I have had no contact with him for 50 or so years, but the times we had as buddies I remember well. Alan was a good friend.
