Obituary for Austin Sanford
Austin Sanford, 22, of Dawsonville passed away suddenly on Sunday July 12, 2020.
Born October 18, 1997, Austin had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past five years. Previously of Gainesville and Cumming, he was a 2016 graduate of North Forsyth High School. Alongside his father, he owned and operated a landscaping company. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, snowboarding and watersports on Lake Lanier. Austin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Chin Yin Sanford and great-grandparents, Georgia Van Hook, Alton Grimes.
Surviving are his parents, Mark and Jennifer Sanford, Dawsonville; sister, Janey Haines, Marietta; grandparents, Norman Sanford, Dawsonville, Don and Phyllis Van Hook, Woodstock; great-grandparents, Helen Grimes, Woodstock, Donald Van Hook, Kentucky; aunts, uncles and other relatives.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday July 16, 2020 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Dawson County Humane Society in honor of Austin’s love for animals at www.dawsoncountyhumanesociety.org.
