Obituary for Betty Jane Magnus Morabito
Betty Jane Magnus Morabito, age 87, of Dawsonville passed away August 20, 2020.
Betty was born on February 26, 1933 to the late Jim and Ruby (Conner) Magnus. She grew up in Dawsonville along side her sister and brother. Betty attended Dawson County High School where she played basketball. After high school, Betty married and moved to Atlanta. She had a long career with Abbott Laboratories in Atlanta. A few years after retirement, Betty moved back to Dawsonville where she was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She loved cooking, sewing, arts and crafts, gardening and animals, especially her cat, Miss Kitty. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Jacqueline Ann O’Kelly, her brother, Brice Magnus, her husbands, Jack O’Kelly and Frank Morabito, and her sister, Bertha Magnus Skinner.
Betty is survived by her brother, Bill Magnus, Dawsonville; stepdaughter, Audra Morabito Robinson (Sam); nieces and nephews, Jim Skinner, Gloria Skinner Coker, Terry Skinner (Shirley), Billy Magnus (Julie), Misty Magnus Smith (Jeremy) and several great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday September 13, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church in Silver City.
