Obituary for Cecil Jones
Cecil Jones, 81, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022, at his residence.
He was born November 1, 1940, to the late Henry and Edna Jones and was a lifetime resident of Dawsonville. Cecil was of the Baptist faith and retired from North Georgia Rendering Company/American Proteins following 38 years of service. He was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors and running beagles. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents as well as sisters, Margie Saine, Jeannie Burt and Janet Pendergrass; brothers, Lee Jones, Lonnie Jones, Loyd “Bug” Jones and Carlton Ash.
Survivors include his son, Michael Cecil Jones, Dawsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Timmy and Jennifer Jones, Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Amy and Thomas Pitts, Dawsonville, Kay and Brandon Payne, Dawsonville, Skyler Jones and fiancé’, Heidi Fredebeil, Dawsonville, Hannah Jones, Tulsa, OK, Nicholas Jones, Tulsa, OK; brother, Bo and Ruth Jones, Dawsonville; sister, Mildred Gaddis, Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Jerry Barron, Dawsonville; beloved dog, “Little Man”; nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6, 2022, at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Clark Watson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 until 2 at the funeral home.
