Obituary for Charles R. "Roy" Wade III

Charles R. “Roy” Wade, III, 73, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday March 11, 2021 following a period of declining health.
Born December 7, 1947 in Sumter County, GA to the late Charles R., Jr. and Raymond Wade, he had lived in Dawson County since 1978 having moved from Macon. Mr. Wade earned a Master’s degree of Divinity from Emory University and a Master’s degree in mathematics education from Georgia State University. He taught over 20 years in public school systems prior to his retirement with his tenure in the Dawson County School System being his most rewarding. Roy obtained a patent in 1988 for an educational device and also enjoyed woodworking and the outdoors. He attended McKees Chapel United Methodist Church and was also preceded in death by his sister, Macy Wade.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Patti Wade, Dawsonville; sons and daughters in law, Will and Jennifer Wade, Dawsonville, Paul and Amanda Wade, Winder; grandchildren, Jenna Wade, Walker Wade, Presley Wade, and Cash Wade.
At his request, Mr. Wade was cremated and the family is planning a private service.
