Obituary for Claudine Hampton

Claudine Hampton, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Friday June 26, 2020 at her residence following a short illness.
Born June 12, 1935 in Hall County to the late Seth and Edna Mathis, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. A homemaker at her death, she was formerly employed for many years at Sweet-Orr. Claudine enjoyed sewing and quilting. A member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Virgil M. Hampton; son, Larry Hampton; sisters, Connie Maudean Tumling, Alice Blondine Mathis; and brothers, Thurmond Mathis and A. D. Mathis.
Surviving are her children, Mary Margaret & Ken Korab, Dawsonville, Mildred Emerson, Gainesville, Fran and Michael Harben, Woodstock, Glen Hampton, Dawsonville, Donald Hampton, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jennifer and Brian Grindle, Jonathan Emerson, Joseph Emerson, London and Nicole Harben; great grandchildren, Breanna Page Grindle, Lily Star Grindle, Alexandria Emerson, and Roxy Emerson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 30, 2020 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim Hubbard and Rev. Doug DeLong will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
