Obituary for David D. Bowen
David D. Bowen, 83, of Big Canoe passed away Monday January 4, 2021.
Born December 3, 1937 in Blackshear, Georgia to the late Walt and Thelma Bowen, he had lived in Big Canoe for the past 3 months having moved from Loganville. Mr. Bowen was a retired mechanical contractor with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the United Association Local 72 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He enjoyed fishing, RVing, and University of Georgia football. David was also preceded in death by his sisters, Sue Boudreaux, Sharon Dixon; and brothers, Gene Bowen and Travis Bowen.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Mary Frances Bowen, Big Canoe; sons and daughters in law, David D., Jr. and Tammy Bowen, Zebulon, Derek and Michelle Bowen, Big Canoe; grandchildren, Mikayla Bowen, Ethan Bowen, Brightyn Bowen; sisters and brother in law, Sandra Jeffords, Waycross, Sonya and Bubba Roberts, Orlando, FL; brother, Jimmy Bowen, Ricon; and a number of other relatives.
The family is planning a private service.
