Obituary for Dock J. Hannah, Sr.
Dock J. Hannah, Sr., 82, of Dawsonville passed away Friday, October 18, 2022.
Born October 30, 1940 in Wadley, GA to the late Dock and Mae Hannah, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 40 years having moved from Forsyth County. Mr. Hannah retired as a truck driver for Tyson Foods following many years of service. He was a U. S. Army veteran and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. A member of Juno Baptist Church, he was also preceded in death by a son, Johnny Hannah; and brothers, Lindsey Hannah, Frank Hannah, and Rufus Hannah.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Shirley Hannah, Dawsonville; children, Cissy and Bobby Silvers, Robbinsville, NC, Jennifer and Kelly Addison, Hayesville, NC, Dock, Jr. and Becky Hannah, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jacob and Christian Hannah, Isaac Hannah, Zeb Hannah, Drew and Lauren Thomason, Jordan Hannah, Matthew Hannah, and Anna Silvers.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim Biddy and Rev. Barry Payne will officiate. Interment will follow in the Juno Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
