Obituary for Emma Lou Higgins
Emma Lou Higgins, 71, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday May 19, 2022 following a period of declining health.
Born July 1, 1950, Emma Lou was originally from Forsyth County and had been a resident of Dawson County for almost 20 years. A member of Crossroads Baptist Church, she enjoyed flowers and working in her garden. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Emma Lou was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Bonnie Cox; daughter, Rachel Jane Higgins; sister, Sarah Evans; brother, Charles Cox.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Mack Higgins of Dawsonville; son, Ralph Higgins of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Kaera Higgins, Amber Higgins, Andy Higgins; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Lanier Castleberry, Phillip Castleberry; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday May 24, 2022 at Bearden Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to help offset final expenses or to your church.
