Obituary for Evelyn "Jean" Strawn
Evelyn Eugenia “Jean” Strawn, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday May 9, 2020 at The Phoenix at Milton following a period of declining health.
Born July 22, 1934 in Dawsonville to the late Brock and Pearl Crane, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. Jean worked as a secretary for the American Oil Company and then the Olin Corporation until her retirement. She was a member of Dawsonville Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Richard Strawn and sisters, Priscilla Hughes, Vivian Burt, Janette Fausett, and Wynelle Bennett.
Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Deena and Sean Coughlin, Duluth; grandsons, Patrick Coughlin, Colby Coughlin, Cameron Coughlin; great granddaughter, Kinley Coughlin; sisters, Aline McClure and Shirley Bearden, both of Dawsonville; a number of other relatives.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday May 12, 2020 at 2 o’clock at Dawsonville Memorial Gardens. Rev. Phil DeMore will officiate.
