Obituary for Glynn Smith
Glynn Smith, 71, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Glynn was born May 31, 1950 and lived his entire life in the Dawson County area. He retired as an Electronic Technician with Scientific Atlanta following 28 years of service. After his retirement, he was employed by Tulsat-Atlanta for 11 years. Glynn was an avid music lover, an accomplished musician on both guitar and drums. He also possessed a passion for singing, song writing and antique cars. A member of Trinity Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his parents, Grace Smith Abernathy and Wilburn Smith.
Surviving are his daughters, Heather Dee Smith, Dawsonville, Hillarie Lane Smith, Cumming; granddaughter, Zoe Opal Grace Smith, Cumming; sisters and brother in law, Judy Geisler, Bossier City, LA, Anita and Rex Trammel, Dawsonville; the mother of his children, Gayle Funes, Cumming; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A Celebration of Glynn’s Life will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Dawson County Senior Center, 201 Recreation Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534.
