Obituary for Gus Baker

Gus Baker, 64, of Dawsonville passed away suddenly at his residence on Friday September 6, 2019.
Born January 28, 1955 in Hall County to the late Robbie and Elizabeth Baker, he had lived in Dawson County for over 50 years having moved here from Forsyth County. Gus owned and operated ABC Boat Repair and was also employed at Atlanta Attachment. He was an avid sports fan and formerly coached Little League baseball, basketball, and football. Gus enjoyed go-cart racing, boating, all activities on the water and was very devoted to his grandchildren. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Baker, and a brother, Raymond “Moe” Baker.
Surviving are his children, Dusty Baker, Dawsonville; Sheree and Michael Moore, Gainesville, Shawn Baker and his fiancé, Ashley Brown, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Hailey Moore, Lucas Baker, Kaia Belton, Grayson Baker; sister and brother in law, Ann and Eddie Jones, Cumming; brother, Wayne Baker, Gainesville, and his fiancé, Cheryl Knapp.
Funeral services will be held Thursday September 12, 2019 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Ellis will officiate. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
