Obituary for Hayne Tatum

Hayne Tatum, 83, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 following a period of declining health.
Born September 7, 1938 to the late Elmer and Ina Mae Tatum, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Hayne was formerly the Executive Vice President of Tatum Farms. Along with his wife, they owned T&T Promotions which promoted gospel music for 33 years. He was the Singing News Promoter of the Year in 2010. Mr. Tatum served in the U. S. Army Reserves for 12 years. His life was dedicated to his love of gospel music, cattle and poultry farming, and he was very devoted to his family. A member of McKees Chapel United Methodist Church, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Verline Sellers.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to Ricky Tatum and Darren Sellers.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Lois Tatum, Dawsonville; children, Teresa Davenport, Dawsonville, Scott and Mandy Tatum, Columbus, Matthew Tatum, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Heather Davenport, Brooke Tatum, Ethan Tatum; brother and sister in law, W. L. and Ruby Nell Tatum; and a number of other relatives.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 2 o’clock at the McKees Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Scott Taylor and Matt Dibler will officiate.
