Obituary for Helen Bolton Swafford
Helen Bolton Swafford, 64, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday March 11, 2021 at Northside Hospital Forsyth following a period of declining health.
Born May 29, 1956, Helen had been a resident of Dawson County for most of her life. A loving sister, mother, and grandmother, she always had a positive attitude and great sense of humor. Helen loved everybody and was preceded in death by her parents, Major and Ruby Bolton, sister, Carol Bolton and brother, James Bolton.
Surviving are her sons, Bobby Joe Swafford, Terry Joe Swafford; sisters and brother in law, Sue McBrayer, Rubyanne and Tracy Lingerfelt; brothers and sisters in law, Carl and Jean Bolton, John and Kris Bolton, all of Dawsonville; fiancé, John Durrence and his two daughters; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held on Monday March 15, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Chester and Billy Rice will officiate. Interment will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday March 14 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Monday until the hour of service.
