Obituary for James R. Massey
James R. Massey, 64, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022.
Mr. Massey was born June 11, 1958 to the late Coy and Peggy Massey. He was a native of Norcross and had lived in Dawson County for over 20 years. James formerly worked as a floor finisher for Douglas Complete Wood Floors after which he worked for the Fulton County School System. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed fishing and spending time at the beach. Also preceding him in death were his sister, Linda Jane Massey and a brother, Charles Tilton Massey.
Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Jane Andrea “Sadie” Douglas, Dawsonville; children, Samantha Massey, Dawsonville, Doug Massey, Dawsonville, Jamie Massey, Toccoa, Jason Massey, Toccoa; granddaughter, Sophia Voyles; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Bill Douglas will officiate. Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
