James Kelly, 60, of Dawsonville, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.
James was born December 10, 1960 in Jacksonville, Florida, where he lived for 38 years until moving to Dawsonville, Georgia 21 years ago.
James was a man that loved God and that God loved. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at a young age and spent the rest of his life doing his best to show others Christ’s love. There was never a room you didn’t know James was in. There was never a place he could go that he didn’t know someone. He loved people and never forgot a face. He made life fun and interesting. He was a hard worker that loved his work. But he would tell you that it was all because of Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his son, Calvin Kelly; his parents, James Thomas Kelly and Marjorie Kelly; and his father in law, Gus Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Moore Kelly, that he loved with his whole heart; his daughter and son in law, Elisabeth Kelly McKague and Joshua McKague; his son and daughter in law, Joshua Kelly and Brandy Underwood Kelly; his grandchildren, Mathias McKague, Esther McKague, and MacKenzie Kelly; his sister and brother in law Darlene Kelly Harvey and Arthur Harvey of Jacksonville, FL; his sister and brother in law, Judy Kelly Jones and Steve Jones; numerous other relatives; and friends he called family.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 2 o’clock at Etowah Church, 5693 Kelly Bridge Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534. Pastor Russell Davis will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, November 6th beginning at 1 o’clock.
