Obituary for JoAnn Johnston
JoAnn Johnston, 76, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday November 3, 2020 at her residence following a period of declining health.
JoAnn was born January 5, 1944 and raised in Staten Island, New York. A resident of Dawson County for the past 36 years, she had a long career as a medical technologist, working at many hospitals throughout Georgia until her retirement. Following retirement, JoAnn was an active member of the Dawson County Senior Center where she especially enjoyed the art program and the company of her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis J. and Jean Marotti.
Surviving are her sister and brother in law, Carol and Art Gundersen of Peachtree City; brother and sister in law, Robert and Anna Marotti of Connecticut; six loving nieces and nephews; ten adoring great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday November 7, 2020 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home.
