Mr. John Butler Pascoe, 80, of Cumming, GA, died Thursday morning, December 23, 2021.
Mr. Pascoe was born in Marietta, Georgia, August 19, 1941, the eldest son of the late John Clarence Pascoe of Nelson, GA and the late Nellie May Butler Pascoe of Marietta, Georgia. Following high school, Mr. Pascoe received his Bachelor and Masters degrees in Adult Education from Georgia Southern University and later served in the US Army National Guard. Throughout his life, Mr. Pascoe lived and worked in Marietta and Swainsboro, Georgia. Initially working for Lockheed-Martin, then moving to Swainsboro where he worked for Swainsboro Technical College. Finally returning to Marietta, GA with his family where he worked for Gwinnett Technical College before retirement. Following retirement, Mr. Pascoe moved to Panama City Beach, Florida where he spent over fifteen years.
Mr. Pascoe is survived by his two children, John Michael Pascoe and Jennifer Grace Pascoe Engel, and a grand-daughter, Sophia Ann “Sophie” Engel. Mr. Pascoe is also survived by his brother Michael Clarence (Judy) Pascoe of Thomaston, Georgia and sister Beverly Ann “Beba” (Wayne) Mayo of St. Augustine, Florida. Additional survivors include his nephew and niece, Jonathon Pascoe and Sarah Pascoe Griffin and four great-nieces.
The family will receive friends and family at the Bearden Funeral Home, Highway 53 in Dawsonville, Georgia on Saturday January 8, 2022 from 11am to 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mr. Pascoe’s honor to the National Ataxia Foundation (www.ataxia.org).
