Obituary for John "Buck" William Carlisle
John “Buck” William Carlisle, Sr., 78, of Dawsonville passed away Monday, June 20, 2022.
Born January 27, 1944, to the late Robert and Emmie Lou Carlisle, John was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. He was of the Baptist faith and loved farming and especially his tractors. “Buck” enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling but more than anything he loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and mother of his children, Mildred Turk Carlisle; brothers, Benny Carlisle and Bill Carlisle.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Freeman Carlisle, Dawsonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Richard Kimbral, Dawsonville, Teresa and Terry Haynes, Sr., Tate, GA; son and daughter-in-law, John and Angie Carlisle, Dawsonville; step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Susan and Jeff Harkins, Suches, GA; grandchildren, Amber and Will Stewart, Gainesville, Levi and Taylor Kimbral, Dahlonega, Cameron and Caitlin Day, Dawsonville, Parker Stancil and Madie Mays, Dawsonville, Hannah Carlisle, Dawsonville, Dawson Carlisle, Dawsonville; step-grandchildren, Holly Harkins and David Markwith, Statesboro, GA, Caleb Harkins, Suches, Zeb Harkins, Suches, Terry and Maddie Haynes, Jr., Woodstock and Logan Haynes, Woodstock; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Grogan, Cumming and other extended family members.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 11:00a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church in Dawsonville. Rev. Tony Holtzclaw will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 22nd from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
