John Burton “J. B.” Barns, 75, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023.
Born October 31, 1947 in Norwalk, CT to the late Roger and Ethel Barns, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 6 years having moved from Troy, NY. Mr. Barns retired as a field service engineer for ASML. He enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors including hiking, camping, rock climbing, scuba diving, bike races and running. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Patty Barns and Elaine Draper.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Cheryl Barns, Dawsonville; children, Michaele and Tony Monaco, Hopewell Junction, NY, Kyle Barns, Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Jonathan Densk, and Katie Barns.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
