Leon "Doug" Bearden, 77, of Calhoun, GA passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Kennestone Hospital, Marietta, GA. He was a member of Amicalola Baptist Church, Dawsonville, GA. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved to help people. He loved to tinker with anything mechanical and was known as a Jack of All Trades.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Eva Bearden; daughter, Tiffany Cochran; sister, Delores Kirby.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Bearden of Calhoun, GA; children, Tina and Charles Thigpen of Stockbridge, GA, Tonya and Christopher Short of Dalton, GA, Rodney and Tiffany Bearden of Ballground, GA, Heather and Brandon Turner of Calhoun, GA; 11 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ronnie Bearden of Dawsonville, GA, Janell Reeves of Dawsonville, GA, Judy and David Dospoey of Cumming, GA, Tony Bearden of Dawsonville, GA, Ricky Bearden of Calhoun, GA, Steve Bearden of Dawsonville, GA. and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives survive.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Amicalola Baptist Church, Dawsonville, GA. with the Rev. Daniel Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
