Obituary for Marian Elizabeth Wildeboer

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marian Wildeboer from Dawsonville, GA, who passed away on August 31,2020 at the age of 76.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanne Ashley, and brother Alan Wildeboer. She is survived by her brother Gary Wildeboer, many nieces, nephews and great-nephews including Steve Ashley, Rebecca Hunt, Matthew Wildeboer, Karen Ashley, Gary Hunt, Jennifer Wildeboer, Robert Ashley, Miles Wildeboer and Charlie Wildeboer, and her beloved pets Shadow, Max and Panda.

For more than 30 years, Marian ran the Paramedic Program at Dekalb Technical College, where she helped start the program that has trained hundreds of paramedics and firemen in life saving techniques. She always held firemen and the lifesaving work they do in high honor. To many paramedics in the state she is remembered as “Mother Marian”, and they still remember her lessons and love her.

Marian was a kind and loving soul who always wanted to help unfortunate animals, as well as being a loving sister, aunt and friend to many. Her family and friends are devastated by her passing, but we know we will see her again.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your local Humane Society, or even better, if you have a place in your heart and home, adopt a shelter or rescue animal in her honor
