Obituary

Mary Ann Robbins, 86, of Dawsonville entered the pearly gates of Heaven on Sunday August 2, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born July 18, 1934, Mary was raised in Texas where she lived until marrying her beloved husband, Joe. During her early career, she worked as a kindergarten teacher and homemaker. She had been a resident of Dawsonville for over 40 years and spent many years working at both Bannister Funeral Home and Gold City Convalescent Home in Lumpkin County until her retirement. Mary attended The Church At War Hill, was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Robbins, son, Robert Robbins, and parents, Vaughn and Josephine Edwards.
Surviving are her daughters and sons in law, Lisa (Kim) Mills, Dawsonville, Tammy (Rickey) Tatum, Dawsonville; Janice (Mark) Anderson, Ohio, Pat (Tod) Carmony, Ohio; brother and sister in law, Robert (Patty) Edwards, Texas; sister, Martha Donaho, Texas; grandchildren, Josh Vaughters, Zach (Morgan) Vaughters, Jordan Vaughters, Toby (Staci) Tatum, Megan (Nathan) Bottoms, Courtney (Zak) Moore; numerous great-grandchildren; her wonderful caretakers at Ashton Assisted Living; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday August 6, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Don Allen will officiate. Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimers Association, www.alz.org.
