Michael James Moore, 33, recently of Valdosta, Georgia, and a native of Dahlonega, passed away early Friday morning, November 26. Michael was born December 1, 1987 and grew up in Dahlonega. He attended Lumpkin County High School where he played golf and basketball. He graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a degree in finance and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Michael married the love of his life and his best friend, Christie, in a joyful and love filled ceremony on June 9, 2018, in Athens, Georgia. Together they shared a love of history, travel, politics, football, learning, the beach, and traveling the state to visit friends and family far and wide, especially through Leadership Georgia. Michael was formerly a financial analyst with Dieffenbacher in Alpharetta and had recently joined the staff at Valdosta State University.
Those who were loved by Michael and those who loved him knew him to have a fun, peaceful, curious, and gentle spirit and a smile that would light up any room. Never one to claim the spotlight, he had a servant’s heart and was happy to care for those he loved and support them in any way he could.

(Buddy) Moore (Teresa); twin brother, Matthew Moore (Stephany); brother Andrew Moore (Melissa); maternal grandparents, Jim and Zoe Ann Zobel; nephews, Phillip and Jacob Moore, niece Khloe Moore; aunts Alice Moore (Rick), Angie Bennett (Henry), Karen Zobel; uncle Bruce Zobel; cousins Jeffie Trammell (Amy), Kayla Zobel, and Mallory Rubek (Chaise); and many dear friends.
