Obituary for Mitchell Rider
Mitchell Rider, 75, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday October 17, 2020.
Born October 23, 1944 to the late Homer and Anna Rider, he was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. For many years Mr. Rider was a commercial truck driver and was formerly employed by Dawson County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle racing and all sports with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Lynda Rider, Dawsonville; daughters and sons in law, Kay and Gary Barr, Kim and Sandy Reece, both of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jacob and Christian Barr, Nicholas and Katie Beth Barr, Justin Barr, Kyle and Laura Barr, Nicole Odom, Kayla and Travis Reeves; nine great grandchildren; sister, Betty Sue Wilson, Gainesville; brother and sister in law, Johnny and Bonnie Rider, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at 6 p.m. at Set Free Church, 2441 Dawson Forest Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534. Rev. Sandy Reece and Rev. Marty Dunkerly will officiate.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 until 6 at Set Free Church.
