Obituary for Norman H. Blalock
Norman H. Blalock, 73, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday April 19, 2020 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born March 23, 1947, Mr. Blalock was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. Norman married his beloved wife, Kathy, on October 13, 1972 and was a skilled carpenter and plumber. Previously of Alpharetta, Norman had been a resident of Dawson County since the year 2000 when he retired from the Dekalb County Fire Department following 24 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Maeoma Blalock; son, Chris Blalock; and brothers, Larry Blalock and Jerry Blalock.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Blalock, Dawsonville; sons, Curtis Blalock, Dawsonville, Robert Newton Blalock, Dawsonville, Tyler Blalock, Hiawassee; granddaughter, Sarah Newton Blalock, Dawsonville; brother and sisters in law; Walter L. and Janice Blalock, Dawsonville, Mozelle Blalock, Canton, Betty Blalock, Dawsonville; sister in law and brother in law, Joan and Gary C. Wilson, Cumming; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Private family services will be held and Mr. Blalock will be interred in Greenlawn Cemetery.
