Obituary for Roger Hicks
Roger Hicks, 91, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday, may 25, 2022.
Born May 15, 1931 in Fannin County to the late Robert and Madgie Hicks, he lived most of his life in Dawsonville. Mr. Hicks was a retired timber cutter and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gold mining, and bowling. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Pendley; and brothers, Robert Hicks, Woodrow Hicks and Ralph “Buster” Hicks.
Surviving are his companion, Rendy Bruce, Dawsonville; children, Ray Chester, Madisonville, TN, Theresa and Al Jordan, Ellijay, Vickey and Robert Spradlin, Geneva, AL, Patti and Rick Daniels, Auburn, GA; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; sisters and brother in law, Lorene and Bob Parker, Cordele, Mildred Reeves, Dahlonega, Faye Martin, Dahlonega, Wanda Miller, Gainesville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:30 until 2 at the funeral home.
