Obituary for Sarah Cox Evans
Sarah Cox Evans, 73, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday September 27, 2020.
Born April 4, 1947 in Forsyth County to the late Glenn and Bonnie Cox, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 15 years. A homemaker at her death, she was formerly employed as a nutrition assistant with the Forsyth County School System. An accomplished pianist, Sarah enjoyed playing for her family and at church. She enjoyed travel, camping and was a very devoted Pastor’s wife. A member of High Shoals Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Cox.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Rev. Harold Evans, Dawsonville; children, Susan and Larry Holtzclaw, Dawsonville, Helen and Jeff Martin, Cumming, Tim and Katarina Evans, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Ethan, Nicole, Braden, Marisa, Alaina, Will, Stephanie, Marko; sister and brother in law, Emma Lou and Mack Higgins, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday October 2, 2020 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Cecil Reeves, Rev. Leonard W. Ridings, and Rev. Danny Evans will officiate. Interment will follow in the High Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
