Obituary for Shirl Nix (Proctor)
Shirl Diane Nix, 69, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday December 12, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.
Born November 7, 1952, Shirl had been a resident of Dawson County for the past 40 years. She was a loving wife and mother who worked very hard raising her family and caring for her home. Shirl was one of a kind and you never had to wonder what she thought. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Willie T. Proctor; siblings, Judy Proctor, Roger Proctor and J.D. Proctor, Jr.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, James Clark “JC” Nix; sons and daughter in law, Justin Proctor, Jason and Brandy Nix; Special nephew, Josh and Kris Proctor; grandchildren, Taylor Proctor, Rocky Proctor, Jersey Proctor, Walker Proctor, Rachel Clanton, Hunter Nix; sister and brother in law, Gail and Tommy Russell; brother in law and sister in law, Larry and Sandra Nix; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 18, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tommy Russell will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday.
