Obituary for Shirley Morgan Weaver
Shirley Morgan Weaver, 75, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday September 8, 2020 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born December 30, 1944 and raised in Cumming, Shirley lived most of her life in Dawson County. For many years she worked at Sweet-Orr in Dawsonville and Torrington in Dahlonega. A very strong and independent woman, you always knew where she stood. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cumming and loved Elvis, Merle Haggard, gardening, her family, and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Weaver; parents, Jesse and Mary Morgan; sisters, Lillian Henderson, Betty Lois Youngblood, Barbara Fowler; brothers, Joe, Ralph, Wallace, and Buddy Morgan.
Surviving are her daughters and sons in law, Sonya and Michael Davis, Dahlonega, Allison and Sean Carnahan, Dawsonville; sister, Louise Fritts, Roswell; brothers and sisters in law, Aaron Morgan, Free Home, Charles and Marie Morgan, Cumming, Bonnie Morgan, Cumming; brother in law, Robert Fowler, Dawsonville; children that held a special place in her heart, Laila and Rhett Woody; nieces nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday September 11, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Russell Burt and Rev. Sean Carnahan will officiate. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday September 10 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
