Obituary for Willis F. "Frank" McCurdy
Willis F. “Frank” McCurdy, 87, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
Born July 30, 1935 in Grayson, GA to the late Claude and Ada McCurdy, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 25 years having moved from Doraville. For many years, Mr. McCurdy owned and operated McCurdy Auto Parts in Duluth. He was a Deacon at Liberty Baptist Church where he taught the Adult Sunday School Class for several years. He deeply loved his church family. Frank was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara McCurdy; sister Mamie; and a brother, Julius.
Surviving are his sons and daughters in law, Bobby and Cathy McCurdy, Gainesville, Rodney and Baerbel McCurdy, Plymouth, MI; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a special friend, Wilda Pirkle.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11 o’clock at Liberty Baptist Church. The remains will be placed in state at 10 a.m. Rev. Jason Hamby and Rev. Dennis Bottoms will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
