Obituary for Jerel M. Taffar

Jerel M.   Taffar
Jerel M. Taffar, 68, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday November 1, 2014 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born November 4, 1945 to the late G. William and Aline Taffar, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Jerel was a retired independent insurance agent with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and was U. S. Army veteran of Vietnam. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Taffar.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Claudia Taffar; children, Stacie Taffar, Matthew Taffar and Kin Sheffield, Ethan Taffar and Kira Holbrooks, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Alexis Matheson and Bentley Taffar, both of Dawsonville; brothers and sister in law, Billy Taffar, Morrow, Jimmy Taffar, Winder, Larry and Louise Taffar, Dawsonville; sister in law, Ondrea Taffar, Gainesville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 4, 2014 at 2 o’clock at Bethel United Methodist Church. Dr. Orin Sampson and Rev. Eddie Herring will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
