Obituary for Clinton Chumbley

Clinton  Chumbley
Clinton Chumbley, 71, of Dawsonville passed away Monday February 9, 2015.
Born April 15, 1943 to the late Odum and Jethel Chumbley, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Clinton owned and operated Clinton Chumbley Grading and Hauling and was a member of Juno Baptist Church. For 18 years he was the tire carrier for Bill Elliott’s pit crew and was a former member of the U. S. Army Reserve. He was extremely devoted to his friends, especially the breakfast club. Clinton was also preceded in death by a brother, Duren Chumbley.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Chumbley, Blairsville; sisters and brother in law, Janice Canup, Dawsonville, Judy and Bill Abercrombie, Gainesville; sister in law, Eunice Chumbley, Dawsonville; aunt, Pat Cox, Alamo, GA; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday February 12, 2015 at 2 o’clock at Juno Baptist Church. Rev. Tommy Weldy and Rev. Dennis Bottoms will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 until 8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Juno Baptist Church, P. O. Box 627, Dawsonville, GA 30534.
