Obituary for Richard Pittman

Richard  Pittman
Richard Pittman, 68, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday February 22, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Mr. Pittman was born March 22, 1946 and resided in East Atlanta until moving to Dawsonville in 1976. A U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam, along with his father he was in the poultry industry at Pittman Farms for 30 years. A devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, he loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee E. Pittman.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Delores Hay Pittman, Dawsonville, originally of Stone Mountain; mother, Fostelle T. Pittman, Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Kenneth and Laura Pittman, Dawsonville; brother and sister in law, Neil and Debbie Pittman, Gainesville; grandchildren, Dustin, Courtney, Amzie, Travis, Lily, Miranda; 2 great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 25, 2015 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Kenneth Pittman, Andrew Croy, and Justin Peppers will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 on Tuesday at the funeral home.
