Grace Fields, 77, of Dawsonville passed away Friday July 31, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospice following a period of declining health.
Born January 26, 1938 to the late Hoke and Josie Crowe, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. For 23 years Grace owned and operated Grace’s Dress Shop after which she worked four years for Jones New York. She was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church, was an extremely devoted wife, mother, grandmother and was especially dedicated to being a pastor’s wife. Grace was also preceded in death by her daughter in law, Lisa Fields, brothers, John Crowe, Luke Crowe, and four brothers who passed away in infancy.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Rev. Hugh Fields; children, Dennis Fields, Kathy and Mike Arp, Randy Fields and his fiancé, Lois Lynch, all of Dawsonville; sister, Stella Lathem, Canton; grandsons, Ben Fields, Michael Fields, Christoffer Fields, Shannon Arp, Jeremy Fields; great grandchildren, Kayden Arp, Slade Arp, Erica Fields, Nevaeh Fields, Caylee Fields, Jada Fields; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Monday August 3, 2015 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Russell Burt and Phillip Thomason will officiate. Interment will follow in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
