Robert L Robinette

The last I saw Johnny was in the mid 50s when he was visiting his mother at her home. But I did think of him through the years. We were born the same year, a month apart. We were first cousins. As kids, we played together, made mud pies and spent a lot of time at his father's motorcycle shop. His father had the first Harley Davidson motorcycle dealership in the State of Iowa. His shop was in the garage of the Waddell Hotel in Marshalltown. In 1948 when HD came out with the 125 (pee poppers) we got to ride them at the old fairgrounds. We had big dreams for when we were grown how we were going to get our own motorcycles and ride all over the US. We talked about it a lot, but life took us down different paths...but I never forgot him or our dreams. Sympathies to the family and Johnny RIP
