Elizabeth Hickok
Arielle was a close friend of my son Andrew Boggess when they were in gifted at SCMS. I will say that I knew of Arielle more than I actually knew her, which I think says a lot about her.
First, when a teenage boy talks about how talented and good-hearted a teenage girl is rather than how attractive she is, you know she is someone special.
Then whenever there was an opportunity at school for a student to stand out with accomplishments, I always knew I'd see Arielle's name on the list. She was always innovative, creative and dedicated. She also seemed way wiser than her young age.
What struck me the most about this amazing young lady is how humble she was. With all of the recognition she would receive, she had every reason to think she was better than others, but she would NEVER act like that.
I will always be grateful for the way she treated my son. She was a loyal friend, and we hated to see her leave West Virginia.
I am not overstating this when I say that I'm not just sad for the family's, friends' and my son's loss, but honestly the world's. Arielle already made a huge impression on so many people, I can only imagine what her accomplishments would have been.
Bless you all. I can only hope you have some comfort in knowing we are sharing in your pain.
