Karen Smith Bryan (Los Angeles, CA)
My husband, Jim, and I wish to express our deep sadness and condolences to Comer's wife and family for this heartbreaking loss. I am Comer's first cousin, but because of our age difference, I was not fortunate enough to know him well while I was growing up in Georgia. Only in recent years did I have occasion to visit with him and come fully to appreciate the warm, wonderful man that he turned out to be.
Comer was a gracious, dignified and talented gentleman who never forgot his family. He spent many hours visiting my parents (his uncle and aunt) in their later years and made trips to Hawkinsville to visit my mother even after she moved into assisted care. She treasured those visits and always mentioned them to me in our telephone calls.
My father also spoke of Comer to me and would always tell me news about him. He greatly admired Comer for all his accomplishments in life and was proud to be related to such a fine man, as am I.
God bless Comer's family and may their grief be lightened by warm and wonderful memories.
Karen
