Renita J. Hulsey and Family

I bonded with Marla when I moved to Dawsonville , way back in the 1900's...no kidding, she would have loved that line. We shared so much, my dad wouldn't let his children swim in Lake Lanier. He watched as it was built, and on one occasion had the unhappy experience of pulling 2 young girls out that had drowned. I could go to Marla's and swim there, and she didn't quite understand my dad, but we swam. Her household was so very different from mine, I thought she had it made, a room of her own, only 1 sibling, and a peaceful dad and fun loving mom. We had lunch the other day, and discussed how much our children mean(t) to us....Eric, you should know you were the center of her world. Praise God James came along and they just fit together so well. She was hilarious, and I loved her. I am so saddened by her loss, I love knowing she's in heaven, while I hate knowing she's not in this world...where we are. When I moved to Dahlonega, around 1997, my phone rang one day, I answered, and she said,"Hello, Is this Renita Hulsey, the one I went to school with in Dawson County?"", I laughed and said yes it sure is, she said the new phonebook just came and she was just sitting there reading it and saw my name....I laughed my butt off. Who sits and reads the new phonebook? Marla did! I'm so sorry for everyone's loss. She showed me a lot of firsts, camp meeting, snipe hunting, spin the bottle, she was a true party girl in her pre adolescent years. RIP Marla, you are loved!
