Weekends in the mountains

When the girls from SWD got older and had young children we would go to the mountains for a weekend.  It was Gail and Frank Barber, Penny and Donald Thompson, Gail and Joe Fortune, Carol and Larry Hill and Barbara and Terry Medcalf.

We went up on a Friday night and usually stayed until Sunday lunch.   We would go approximately once or twice a year if schedules would permit.

We had a ball playing charades until 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning.   We did a lot of cooking and eating.  We look back on it now and think how did we eat so much!

I will always cherish these times with my friends.

In later years Gail and Joe moved to Dawsonville.  She was not far from me since I live in Cumming.   I was so blessed to be near here the last years of her life.   I enjoyed being with her and being her friend.  She was a blessing to me and I will always love her.
