Obituary for Donald Daniel Jackson

Donald Daniel  Jackson
Donald Daniel Jackson, 62, passed away on November 8, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 15, 1951 in Rockville Center, NY. He spent the last 31 years with his family in Dawsonville.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 37 years, Shelley Jackson; his daughter, Kali Chappell, son-in-law Brandon, and grandson Brayden; his son Adam Jackson, daughter-in-law Karleigh, and grandson Evan; and daughter Jordan Lenior, son-in-law Jacob, grandson Jaxon, and beloved granddaughter Alleigh. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Jackson; his sister, Jody Lofstrom; and his nephew, Brandon Fatz.
Donny was a driven professional with a fanatical love of football, bowling, and racquetball, as well as devout love for his lord and savior, Jesus Christ. When diagnosed with lung cancer in 2012, he remained dedicated to his family and in his will to fight his illness. He remained a brave, ever-faithful man, even throughout his final moments. Donny loved his family and friends unconditionally. He was the type of father, husband, grandfather, and friend that is dreamt of.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from
2 p.m. to 6 p.m at The Gordon Pirkle Room in the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. A small service will be held at 2:30 p.m., however feel free to drop in and celebrate Donny's life anytime that afternoon. The family would especially like to thank the staff at Pruitt Health Hospice for their love and attentive care. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Wounded Warriors, or the American Cancer Society.
